The app creates a scalable platform for mobile sales and service processes. Trade fair contacts and service information are captured on-site in a structured, offline-capable and CRM-integrated way –
enabling faster follow-up, better lead qualification, and more measurable trade fair and service processes.
The company is a globally active provider of automation and technology solutions for industrial applications. It develops and integrates intelligent systems combining hardware, software and services, supporting businesses worldwide in optimising and automating complex production and logistics processes.
A native, cross-platform and offline-capable app was implemented for the company – initially developed for trade fair use and later extended to cover service-related processes as well. The goal was to capture customer contacts and service information on-site in a structured way and transfer them seamlessly into the CRM system without any data discontinuity.
The solution combines several requirements within a shared platform logic:
The app is used internationally and supports a consistent sales and service process across different countries and organisational units.
The result is not a standalone trade fair app, but a scalable mobile application that serves as an end-to-end tool for data capture, communication, follow-up and process management – both in sales and in service.
Before the current solution, trade fair contacts were initially captured on paper. Conversation notes and contact details were recorded by hand and processed manually afterwards. This led to delays, a high error rate and made timely follow-up difficult.
An early attempt to digitise the process using an internet-dependent web app proved too unstable for trade fair environments. Despite favourable conditions in principle, it quickly became clear that a robust, offline-capable solution with direct CRM integration was needed.
Downstream processing was also labour-intensive: trade fair contacts had to be manually cleaned, supplemented and eventually imported into the CRM via Excel and database intermediate steps. This created additional effort and increased the likelihood of errors.
At the same time, trade fairs have a high strategic importance for the company – both for lead generation and for positioning as a technological innovation leader. A solution that makes trade fair investments measurable and transparent was therefore essential.
The company is one of the early adopters of the entergon platform. In an early project, a native, offline-capable trade fair app was implemented and continuously expanded and modernised across several development stages.
Today the app is established in both trade fair and service contexts and is directly integrated with the CRM system.
In the trade fair context, the app enables:
Sales teams work with clear questionnaires and capture logic, so that a contact immediately becomes a qualified lead.
A central component is automatic lead qualification. Based on defined field combinations, the lead status is interpreted automatically – for example as: hot, warm, cold.
After upload, leads are automatically created in the CRM and assigned to the responsible contact persons.
In addition, the app serves not only as a data capture tool but also as a sales and advisory tool. Users can access product information, videos and reference content directly on the device and use them in customer conversations.
In service deployments, the app is used internationally to document service cases in a structured way directly on-site with the customer. Photos, sketches and further information are captured and automatically transferred to the CRM, where follow-up processes such as tasks or internal coordination are triggered.
Single sign-on and role-based permissions ensure that only authorised users have access, and that the appropriate forms and content are provided for each role.
With the app, sales-adjacent and service-related processes have been made significantly more robust, faster and more consistent.
Instead of paper-based capture and manual post-processing, a digital process is now in place that begins directly at the customer contact and transitions without detours into operational follow-up.
The app not only improves data capture, but also professionalises the entire trade fair presence. Sales teams can capture customer data in a structured way while simultaneously presenting relevant content directly on the device.
This raises both the quality of consultations and the professional impression made on the customer.
In service, the solution significantly reduces post-visit effort, as information is immediately available and follow-up processes can be initiated more quickly.
Key benefits:
The app delivers significant operational and economic improvements both in trade fair operations and in service:
The central value, however, lies not only in efficiency gains but in the improved measurability of trade fair success. Through digital capture, companies can evaluate far more clearly:
This transforms what was traditionally a difficult-to-measure trade fair presence into a significantly more transparent and manageable investment.
With this solution, not merely a mobile data capture app was introduced – a scalable platform for digital sales and service processes was created.
Trade fairs can thereby be managed and evaluated on a more data-driven basis. At the same time, the solution supports a consistent technological presence and lays the foundation for better traceability of trade fair success and sales impact.
